On June 2 this year in Radomsko, the 7th edition of the Memorial of Marian Szymański has been held. Among the participants of the competition were PRESS GLASS employees, who as part of the « Run and Support » campaign raised nearly PLN 1,500 for institutions located in Radomsko.
This year, the organisers have changed the previous convention of the event – among other things, in addition to the 10 km run, a 5 km run and a half-marathon took place as part of the sports event. There was also a competition for children.
Despite the hot weather, over 200 people took part in three main runs, including 17 representatives of our company. The competitions were very successful for the « Run and Support » team – our employees achieved many individual sports successes.
3 employees of PRESS GLASS took part in the 5 km run and each of them was on the winners’ podium in various classified categories of the competitions: Michał Maciejewski took third place in the Open category, Marcin Fronczak took second place in the M16 category and Ewa Rudzińska came in 5th in the K30 category.
11 competitors of PRESS GLASS took part in the 10 km run. Our employee, Andrzej Zogrodnik, stood on the top of the podium in the Open category of the competition. In this distance, successful were also: Bartosz Majcherek (2nd place in the M16 cat.), Justyna Barczyk-Strama (3rd place in the K30 cat.), Marcin Dąbrowski (4th place in the M40 cat.), Adrian Szwarc (4th place in the M16 cat.), Mateusz Jabłoński (5th place in the M16 cat.), Piotr Kowalewski (5th place in the M30 cat.), Dawid Garus (6th place in the M16 cat.) and Robert Janus (9th place in the M30 cat.).
65 participants run in the half-marathon, including two employees of PRESS GLASS: Łukasz Kostrzewa (16th place in the M30 cat.) and Michał Mariankowski (5th place in the M16 cat.).
The raised amount of PLN 1465 will be distributed in equal parts to the charges of two Radomsko institutions: the Association of Parents and Carers of the Disabled « Koniczynka » and the Przyjazna Planeta Foundation.
We would like to thank all participants of the run. We are happy that new people get involved in our sports and charity campaign. See you on the starting line of the next group run!
