Façade glass for the National Forum of Music
The National Forum of Music was officially opened at the beginning of September in Wroclaw (Poland). For the investment we supplied about 2 000 m² of façade glass. With the glass and a well designed architectonic concept, the interior of the building acquires a unique shine in daylight.
Overall about 2 000 m² of glazed units of our make were used in the building. Both double glazed and triple glazed façade glass were used in the project that ensure flow of solar energy and material reduction of heat losses from the inside.
The design of the building was made by Kuryłowicz & Associates. The architects were primarily inspired by a musical instrument. The shape of the building and the materials used refer to the resonance cavity of a string instrument while the foyer resembles a piano keyboard.
The location in the centre of Wroclaw and the high quality glass make the glass faithfully reflect the nearby buildings of the city. The installed façade glass – with the appropriate quantity of light it lets through – also add a unique climate to the interior.
The National Forum of Music or the institution of culture in Wroclaw arranges the activity of 11 instrumental and vocal ensembles. It also coordinates 9 international musical events. The institution is also involved in the Wroclaw 2016 – European Capital of Culture program.
The new building was officially opened on 4 September 2014.
