Run and support – a summary of the start in November

A numerous representation of PRESS GLASS participated in the 25th Sambor Street Run which took place on 7 November in Tczew (Poland). Within the action “Run and support” the distance of 10 km was covered by jointly 40 persons. For each person we provided a specific amount for a charity purpose. The participants decided that the support would be provided to the Complex of Special Schools in Tczew.

The participants “ran” the total amount of PLN 2730. In accordance with the assumptions underlying the action, the funds – subject to the number of employees who completed the race – were provided to a charity purpose selected by the run participants. The Complex of Special Schools in Tczew was selected which is a local centre taking care of mentally handicapped children and teenagers.

Over 400 people participated in the main run. It turned out that the PRESS GLASS team constituted as many as 10 percent of the overall number of runners. Marek Kowalski won the race and Jacek Piętak (73rd position) was the top runner among our representatives.

“The number of runners proved to be higher than in the two previous runs. We already have a group of committed employees who wish to run for health and to support honourable causes. We hope that in the starts next year, the representation of PRESS GLASS will be at least as numerous or perhaps even larger”, says Gerard Plaze, a co-organiser of the action.

We started the action “Run and support” over six months ago. We inaugurated the action with the 7th Częstochowa Run which was held in Częstochowa (Poland) in April 2015. In the months that followed, our team participated in the runs in Radomsko and in Tychy (Poland). The annual start in Częstochowa is the central item of the action. It is accompanied with additional runs in the city and the neighbourhood where the plants of PRESS GLASS are located.
