Airports are one of the key elements of the network connecting the world. This theme is reflected in the glass façade of the Krakow-Balice airport terminal, which is one of the largest airports in Poland. For the needs of this modern construction, we have prepared tempered glass with a heat-insulating and solar control coating, as well as laminated glass. The project is distinguished by the use of a repeating pattern of triangular glass panes on the façade.
John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice is one of the largest airports in Poland.
In recent years, the airport terminal in Krakow-Balice has been expanded and modernized. The design of the new terminal was created by the Polish architectural design company APA Czech Duliński Wróbel. In accordance with the adopted assumptions, a modern and dynamic character of the current structure constitutes one of the airport’s landmarks.
The façade in the form of a glass prism allows better use of sunlight. Thanks to the use of appropriate materials, it was possible to obtain high thermal insulation which is beneficial in terms of energy. Moreover, it guarantees high comfort for passengers.
Our business partner, Alsal, was responsible for the installation of this double glazed unit façade. For the purposes of the project, we delivered both ESG tempered glass with a heat-insulating and solar control coating (COOL-LITE XTREME 60/28 HT) and laminated glass (VSG STADIP SILENCE). For this project, we implemented non-standard processing procedures, while taking into account the concept of repeatability of the triangular glass on the façade.
