Transparency and responsibility for the environment. Press Glass in the CDP database

Sustainable development, transparency and environmental responsibility are values that are important to us in our business. For this reason, we have decided to use environmental reporting according to the best world standards. From July 26, 2021, the international CDP database, which includes, for example, information on greenhouse gas emissions, also includes data about Press Glass SA.

CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) is an international non-profit non-governmental organisation that helps companies, cities and countries identify their environmental impact. CDP’s main goals are to improve environmental reporting, improve risk management, and give potential suppliers and customers an insight into the entity’s sustainability activities.

Since 2002, more than 9.6 thousand companies disclosed environmental information about their activities through the CDP database. These companies include, for example, AGC Inc., Saint-Gobain and Velux. In practice, CDP facilitates the analysis of emission risk, which is possible thanks to greater accuracy and transparency of greenhouse gas data.

The procedure for joining the CDP database is based on completing a special questionnaire, which collects information on a given company, emissions and environmental initiatives as well as actions taken towards a low-emission economy.

An in-depth analysis of data and activities for sustainable development allowed for the calculation of the so-called carbon footprint, i.e. the total of greenhouse gas emissions emitted by Press Glass SA in Poland. The collected information was used to calculate data in the CDP database, and at the same time they are the element of the ongoing sustainable development report.

Importantly, the questionnaire is non-public, therefore only interested customers can access the detailed data.
