GWP-t: 22.68 kg CO₂e/m²
One of the most favorable GWP values
reported in publicly available EPDs
for comparable insulated glass units.
The reduced Global Warming Potential (GWP) of our insulated glass units is the result of continuous optimization across the manufacturing process, including material selection, improved energy efficiency and emissions management at every stage of production. These efforts are supported by Press Glass’s certified management systems in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
One of the key factors behind these strong results is responsible supply chain management. The environmental impact of the primary raw material, glass, is the single most important factor influencing GWP values and reducing the carbon footprint of the final product.
For a reference 4/16/4 insulated glass unit, the GWP-t value is 22.68 kg CO₂e/m², placing it among the products with the most favorable GWP values reported in publicly available EPDs for comparable insulated glass units. Based on independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), the GWP of our reference insulated glass unit is up to 25% lower than the benchmark market average for comparable products.*
*The comparison applies to insulating glass units of equivalent construction and performance characteristics. The stated value represents the approximate difference between the product GWP and a benchmark calculated using publicly available EPD data for comparable insulating glass units.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a verified document that outlines a product’s environmental performance throughout its entire life cycle—from raw material extraction, through production, to the end-of-life stage.
The EPDs for our products were developed and verified by ift Rosenheim —an independent research institute specializing in the assessment of construction products.
The table below presents GWP-t values reported in Environmental Product Declaration EPD-MIG-GB-61.1 for representative insulated glass unit configurations manufactured by Press Glass.
| GWP-t (A1-A3) | DGU uncoated |

In buildings designed to reduce lifecycle emissions, not only energy efficiency during operation but also emissions associated with the production of building materials are becoming increasingly important.
Insulating glass units, as a key component of the facade, influence both operational energy performance and the embodied carbon of a building from the construction phase onward.
Reducing the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of glazing products contributes to lower project-related emissions and provides transparent environmental data to support building-level carbon assessments.
This approach supports projects targeting certification schemes such as BREEAM, LEED and DGNB, where verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and environmental product data play an increasingly important role.
At Press Glass, our Integrated Management System, certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, supports the achievement of long-term quality, environmental and energy performance objectives. The system enables effective control and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, helping to enhance operational efficiency, optimize resource use and improve product quality.
A key milestone was the implementation of ISO 50001 across our production facilities in Poland, providing a structured approach to energy management and helping identify opportunities for energy savings and ongoing performance improvement. Together with continuous process optimization, these initiatives contribute to the environmental performance of our products and support the transparent environmental data.
